Business Experience:

• 1981 Established Micro Electrics P Ltd with a total project cost of USD $ 3,500 to manufacture 2 tpd of STABLE Bleaching Powder (versus $ 450,000 spent by MODI ALKALIES in the same year for a 30 tpd plant in collaboration of UHDE, Germany). Micro Electrics is the only factory of its kind in the world established from data gathered from the libraries of IIT, Kanpur/Delhi & INSDOC & in house research. MICRO SBP carries the Indian Standards: 1089 certification.
• 1991 Established ABS Cement P Ltd, as the main promoter (40% shareholding), with an equity of $ 1,35,000 and a term loan of $ 2,10,000, to manufacture 70 tpd cement using VSK technology.
• 1996 With the closure of Dehradun Limestone mines by the order of the H'nble Supreme Court ABS Cement had to be shut down. This was the starting point for development of fly ash blended cement.
• 1999 ABS commenced manufacture of fly ash blended cement (IS: 1489). (Thanks to the cost benefits achieved from our fly ash blended cement technology, ABS is now debt free).
• 2000 Established ASHTECH as a joint venture with Mr. JPS Gujral, MD of M/s TANVEER Enterprises, Delhi. M/s Tanveer Enterprises have sold more than 2 million tons of fly ash till date.
• 2001 The Director (Power) NEYVELI LIGNITE CORPORATION LTD asked us to submit a proposal on finding gainful usage of 2.15 million tons of fly ash that their 3900 MW power plant will be generating annually.

Consulting Experience:

1990- 1998

• Single handedly set up a SBP factory for Kunj Behari Chemicals on the outskirts of Bangalore in my role as a turnkey consultant.
• Kunj Behari Chemicals repaid all loans availed from the financial institutions & have set up another SBP factory at Hosur under our guidance.
• Re-commissioned a 200 tpd VSK Plant for Bharat Foods Ltd at Rewa, M.P. that had been lying closed for 5 years.

1999-2001

• Carried out successful field-trials for M/s Naveen Brick Fields, Meerut on the usage of high LOI fly ash being generated by the Modi Rubber (power plant). FLY ASH was being used here as a clay & fuel substitute.
• Advised the Cement Desk, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jaipur to help revive mini cement-grinding plants in Rajasthan.

• Successfully completed an assignment from Sri Krishna Sai Cement, Vijaywada to improve the quality of their fly ash blended Cement. We have also been able to bring about a saving of $ 10 per ton.
• Conducted a project feasibility study for Rama Newsprint & Papers Ltd, for the manufacture of fly ash cement from ash generated from their 25 MW captive power generated plant.
• Appointed official Valuer of UPFC (Uttar Pradesh Financial Corporation) for conducting the valuation of cement plants that were financed by them. Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in India with a population exceeding 250 million.
• Appointed consultant to M/s CEMENTOS TEQUENDAMA S A, BOGOTÁ for the assistance in manufacture of fly ash blended cement.
• Conducted a feasibility study for setting up of a modified Bull Trench brick kiln/ High draught brick kiln for M/s INVERSIONES INDUSTRIAS Y CONSTRUCCIONES LTDA, Santa Fe De Bogotá, D.C. COLOMBIA,. SOUTH AMERICA.
• WE started our own CEMENT/ Fly Ash RESEARCH LABORATORY.  We can also test cement, Fly Ash & cement raw materials for you.

2002-2006

1. Appointed “Advisor” to M/s CEMENTOS TEQUENDAMA S A, BOGOTÁ for the setting up of a 500 tpd fly ash blended cement plant.
2. Appointed Consultant to the 500 tpd Nirmaan Cement Ltd, Patna for improving cement quality & bringing down costs.
3. Appointed Consultant for dismantling, erection & commissioning of an old 65 tpd VSK cement plant for M/s Butwal Cement, Nepal. The plant has since been commissioned.
4. Trials of our Research Lab developed Cement mill Grinding –Aid (cum Cement Pack Set Inhibitor) are being conducted at the Gujarat Ambuja Limited (now with ACC, capacity 31 Million TPA cement plant). The Trials find a mention in the GUJARAT AMBUJA Share holders report.
5. Appointed consultant to set up a fly ash blended cement plant for M/s Kigali Cement Co, Rwanda ( Africa). The plant was successfully commissioned.
6. Asked to conduct a pre feasibility report for Captive Power Plant (CPP) of the Aluminum producer NALCO limited to advise on the setting up a 1500 tpd fly ash blended cement plant as also the gainful utilization of the 4100 tpd of class ‘F’ Fly ash being generated by the CPP every day.
7. Appointed Consultant to Mr Warren Hanchey for setting up a 300 tpd blended cement plant in San José, Costa Rica. The project was abandoned.
8. Invited to Kuwait to set up a 30 tph cement plant for Shaheen Alghanim & Co & also advise on cement & clinker procurement.
9. Appointed ‘Advisor’ for purchase of fly ash & cement composition & plants to M/s United Cement Co WLL, Bahrain, a part of 27 division Abdulla Ahmed Nass group with interests in cement, construction, Reclamation, Ready Mix concrete & Shipping (25 ships) etc.
10. UCC also sponsored us to attend a conference by INTERCEM, Amsterdam on “Cement Replacement Materials” in Feb, 2004 & many more..
11. Invited to address workshop of the Power Management Institute on ‘Use of coal ash for Portland pozzolona cement and high volume fly ash cement’.
12. Invited to address the workshop of the Cement Desk of the Bureau of Indian Standards on blended cement.
13. Appointed advisor to Mr Haitham Widatalla for setting up a 200 tpd cement grinding plant in North Africa. The plant has been successfully commissioned.
14. Invited as advisor to the 3 million ton per annum (Rotary Kiln) Shree Cement Ltd, Beawar to advise on the cement compositions.

Shree Cement Ltd (3 MPTA) have their own 36 MW power plant & captive mines.

Shree Cement Ltd claim to be the lowest cost cement producer in the world (as per worldwide survey by Whitehoppleman UK).

15. Appointed advisor to ADIL INTL, Maputo, Mozambique to install a 200 tpd blended   cement factory.
16. Successfully completed the evaluation for the BIN OMEIR HOLDING GROUP, Abu Dhabi of a 200,000 TPA rotary kiln plant in Berbera, Somaliland.

17. Invited by the Governor of ADAMAWA to visit Nigeria and explore the possibility of setting up a Greenfield 2000 TPA cement plant.

• Appointed marketing agent for CBMC of China to set up single line rotary cement plants till 10,000 tpd (2005).
• Appointed advisor to Mr Dimitry Fahmy to set up a 300 tpd cement grinding plant in Sudan. M/s El Sharq Cement has been successfully commissioned in August 2008.

• Advised to Mr Jody Myrie to set up 120 tpd cement grinding plant in Kingston, Jamaica. The plant has been delivered. Also exported 42,500 Ton cement to Jamaica from North Sea Port, China for Mr Myrie.

• Traveled extensively on invitation by companies in East Africa to set up 1000 tpd cement plants in 2006 in Uganda, Juba, Tanzania and Kenya.
• Appointed advisor to Roofings Ltd Uganda.

• Appointed Advisor to TANCEM TANZANIA LIMITED for installation of a 1000 tpd cement plant. Land & mine procurement has been completed, financial closure achieved and order for machinery has been placed.

• Mr Damascene (Kigali Cement Co, Rwanda) ordered a second CGU (200 tpd) & also an order for Vertical Shaft Kiln (VSK) been placed.

2007-8

• Appointed advisor to National Cement Co, Dre Dawa Ethiopia (existing Rotary Kiln plant)
• Appointed advisor to HBT Investments, Richards Bay, South Africa for 1000 tpd GCU- a BEE company
• Appointed advisor to Zanzibar Cements Ltd, Zanzibar for 400 tpd CGU. Machinery has been ordered and land procurement completed.
• Prepared TEFR for 0.75 MPTA SIDBALI CEMENT (UP), 3MPTA ABHIJEET CEMENT, NAGPUR & RANCHI.
• Appointed Advisor to Great Lakes Cement, Rwanda for a 200 tpd Clinker Grinding plant. Order has been placed.

·        Appointed Consultant to JINDAL INDIA THERMAL POWER LTD who have plans to set up 4 Coal fired power plants including 1200 MW power plant in Orissa for advise on Fly Ash & installion of 3 Million ton cement plant

·        Appointed Advisor to Independent Tobacco, Jebel Ali to install a 1000 tpd cement plant in the Horn of Africa. The TEFR is under wetting and investment decision is expected soon. Also did Limestone prospecting for the company.

·        Prepared TEFR for Eradus corp, Spain to install a 2000 tpd cement plant in Abu Dhabi. Became the first person to index cement demand for GCC countries vis a vis the Brent crude Index for Eradus corp and United Cement Co Bahrain.

·        Appointed Advisor to Pan Afric, Kampala for Limestone survey & preparation of a TEFR for a million ton Cement plant in Moroto, Uganda.

·        Appointed Consultant to ABHIJEET GROUP, Ranchi who have plans to set up Coal fired power plants including 550 MW power plant in Jharkhand for advise on the Greenfield installation of 1 Million ton cement plant at Chandwa, Jharkhand.

Research and Development (FLY ASH, cement & Concrete):

• Read research papers on fly ash properties & usage & conducted trials at ABS Cement.
• We have our own research library & a patent bank.
• Wrote a paper on “The effect of fineness on cement” that was published online by the American Concrete Institute. If adopted, the world can gainfully utilize 400 million tons of fly ash in cement alone.
• The uniqueness of ABS Fly Ash Blended Cement was showcased by the journal Cement India.
• Trial marketed fly ash blended cement with 32% fly ash content. Bureau of Indian Standards IS:1489 allowed for a maximum of 25% fly ash content. It was on our persuasion that the IS: 1489 was AMMENDED to allow 35% fly ash addition in cement in 2000.
• Our discussions with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), National Council for Cement & Building Materials (NCCBM), & the World Bank aided ‘The FLY ASH MISSION’ also paved way for the allowance of addition of low-grade raw limestone up to 5% in OPC cement. Further amendments including the allowance of more performance improvers in cement are under consideration.
• Carried out research on finding a substitute for Calcium Carbide sludge used in fly ash brick-making (FAL-G) - the most successful & meaningful of all the fly ash brick manufacturing technologies) again at the behest of the World Bank funded ‘FLY ASH MISSION’ Delhi. Made some progress but the work had to be abandoned for the lack of a sponsor.
• Wrote several papers on cement and fly ash that were published by the journal Cement India.
• Successfully pioneered the introduction of light colored grey cement using fly ash for floorings & plaster in the Delhi Market. The usage of this cement decreases paint consumption by 30% & POP (Plaster of Paris) finish is NOT REQUIRED for the interiors.
• Attended a course on Optical Microscopy for cement/clinker/fly ash at National Council of Cement & Building Materials, Ballabhgarh.
• Also attended various INTERCEM conferences in several countries.
• We are abreast with the latest developments in the field of fly ash/ cement & concrete have our own research library which includes a patent bank in 60 languages. We have experimented with slag (air-cooled & quenched), limestone, fly ash (Class C &F), calcined clay, pozzolana etc to produce durable cement which is economical & suits the local market conditions.
• We have also experimented in the manufacture of truly blended cement which is distinct from inter-ground cement.
